Lighting Ridge, NSW Black Opal Fish ring set on a sterling silver claw band. 

Two variants of black opals were used to create this divine creature.  The sterling silver prongs were made specially to suit this little fishy. 

This opal carries within it small traces of sand, elements from its creation that couldn't be fully removed. But rather than detract from its beauty, these inclusions lend the gemstone an extra dimension of character and charm. They are the gem's 'birthmarks', making it truly one-of-a-kind. *It is important to note that this piece is crafted with care and features a 'relaxed' fit setting. This approach takes into account this particular opal's placement on the lower end of the Mohs hardness scale-meaning this opals property is one that is softer in nature and more delicate (please refer to our Caring for Your Jewels page for more on the Mohs scale).  Therefore, this piece of jewellery allows for a slight, barely noticeable movement of the gemstone.
