The Puffer Fish Opal Ring

The two opals hand shaped to form the Puffer fish are semi-rough cut stones, hence some jagged edges around the sides.  The opal stone which makes up the tail has been set in the relax fit to suit its size and Mohs scale-toughness (or thereof a lack of). Please see below for more details.

*It is important to note that this piece is crafted with care and features a 'relaxed' fit setting. This approach takes into account this particular opal's placement on the lower end of the Mohs hardness scale-meaning this opals properties is one that is softer in nature and more delicate (please refer to our Caring for Your Jewels page for more on the Mohs scale).  Therefore, this piece of jewellery allows for a slight, barely noticeable movement of the gemstone.
